Autogramin-2 is an inhibitor of Aster-A (IC50 = 1.93 µM), a protein that transports cholesterol from the plasma membrane to the endoplasmic reticulum (ER).1 Autogramin-2 is selective for Aster-A over Aster-B and -C (IC50s = >20 µM for both). It inhibits autophagy induced by amino acid starvation or rapamycin-mediated mammalian target of rapamycin 1 (mTORC1) inhibition in MCF-7 cells (IC50s = 0.27 and 0.14 µM, respectively).2
