iFluor® 488 azide is a fluorophore functionalized with azide, which reacts with alkynes, such as dibenzocyclooctyne (DBCO), to form a stable conjugate. It displays excitation/emission maxima of 491/516 nm, respectively. iFluor® 488 azide can be used for labeling alkyne-modified biological molecules for fluorescence imaging and other fluorescence-based biological applications. It has been used to detect 5-ethynyl-2′-deoxyuridine (EdU; Item No. 20518) incorporation into newly synthesized DNA for the quantification of cell proliferation.1
