    Product Description

    COX-2-IN-6 is a gut-restricted COX-2 inhibitor (IC50 = 0.84 µM).1 It is selective for COX-2 over COX-1 (IC50 = >50 µM). COX-2-IN-6 inhibits the production of PGE2 (Item No. 14010) in HEK293 cells expressing COX-2 but not those expressing COX-1 (IC50s = 0.6 and >50 µM, respectively). In vivo, COX-2-IN-6 (300 mg/kg) selectively accumulates in the colon versus the plasma at a ratio of 492:1 and reduces total ileum polyp area in an ApcMin/+ mouse model of familial adenomatous polyposis (FAP) and colorectal cancer.
