    Product Description

Enecadin is an inhibitor of voltage-gated sodium channels (Navs) and high-voltage activated calcium channels.1 It selectively inhibits Navs and L-, N-, and T-type calcium channels over voltage-gated potassium channels in NG 108-15 cells (IC50s = 7.8, 4.5, 7.3, 17.2, and 160.5 µM, respectively). In vivo, enecadin (0.125-0.5 mg/kg, i.v.) reduces infarct volume and improves motor incoordination in a rat model of stroke induced by permanent middle cerebral artery occlusion (MCAO).2 It also reduces neuronal necrosis in a rabbit model of spinal cord ischemia when administered at a dose of 1 mg/kg.3
