RP-182 is a synthetic innate defense regulator (IDR) peptide.1 It binds to CD206 (Kd = 8.37 µM for the human receptor) and induces its closed conformation with an EC50 value of ~11 µM. RP-182 selectively induces phagocytosis, autophagy, and apoptosis in M2 over M1 macrophages. It increases survival and decreases the percentage of stromal CD206+ cells in the tumor microenvironment in a KP16 mouse model of pancreatic cancer. RP-182 decreases renal macrophage and neutrophil infiltration in a mouse model of unilateral ureteral obstruction-induced renal fibrosis.2
