Rutaevin is a limonoid that has been found in L. olgensis and has diverse biological activities.1,2,3 It acts as a phytoalexin in L. olgensis, where it accumulates in the shoots of trees resistant to larch shoot blight following exposure to the plant pathogenic fungus N. laricinum.1 It also reduces LPS-induced increases in nitric oxide (NO) production in RAW 264.7 macrophages (IC50 = 151.6 µM) and reduces glutamate-induced neurotoxicity in primary rat cortical cells (EC50 = 3.1 µM).2,3
