15-azido Pentadecanoic acid, also known as azido-palmitic acid, is a clickable form of pentadecanoic acid (Item No. 17399). It has been used in the study of glutathione peroxidase 4 (GPX4) palmitoylation in the context of ferroptosis in cancer cells and for metabolic labeling followed by conjugation to biotin-labeled reporters via copper(I)-catalyzed azide-alkyne cycloaddition (CuAAC) and strain-promoted alkyne-azide cycloaddition (SPAAC) in vitro.1,2 15-azido Pentadecanoic acid has also been used in the synthesis of fluorescent probes for in vivo and ex vivo imaging of free fatty acid uptake in the heart and brown adipose tissue in mice.3
