Fuzapladib is a cell adhesion inhibitor.1 It inhibits the adhesion of HL-60 cells to human umbilical vein endothelial cells (HUVECs) stimulated by LPS or TNF-α when used at a concentration of 1 µM. Fuzapladib (0.625-20 mg/kg) reduces pancreatic hemorrhage and necrosis and increases survival in a rat model of pancreatitis.2 Fuzapladib also inhibits phospholipase A2 (PLA2; IC50 = 0.52 mM for porcine pancreatic PLA2). Formulations containing fuzapladib have been used in the treatment of acute pancreatitis in dogs.
