    Product Description

Cayman’s Acetylcholinesterase Activity Assay Kit provides a convenient method of detecting total cholinesterase (ChE) and/or AChE activity in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, and cell lysates. This assay enables the specific detection of AChE activity by leveraging Cayman’s proprietary BChE inhibitor formulated to selectively inhibit BChE present in samples. In the assay, ChEs hydrolyze an acetylcholine substrate analog to produce thiocholine, which reacts with DTNB to form a colorimetric product. The absorbance of the product can be measured at 410 nm. In addition to the specific inhibitor of BChE, a general ChE inhibitor is provided for use in sample background controls.
