    Product Description

The oxidation of low density lipoprotein is thought to be one of the first steps in atherosclerosis. The uptake of oxidized LDL (oxLDL) by macrophages activates pro-inflammatory mediators that promote disease progression. Cayman’s Oxidized LDL Uptake Assay Kit is a convenient tool to study modulators of cellular uptake of oxLDL. The kit employs a fluorescently tagged, human oxLDL along with myricetin, an inhibitor of uptake that reduces CD36 expression.1 The reagents provided in this kit are sufficient to run a single plate of cultured cells by either flow cytometry or fluorescence microscopy.

Needed but not supplied: Please download the kit booklet to verify if UltraPure Water (Milli-Q or equivalent) or any other components are needed for this assay.
