REQUEST YOURSMethylone (hydrochloride) (Item No. 10986) is an analytical reference material that is categorized as a cathinone. Methylone blocks reuptake of dopamine, 5-HT, and norepinephrine in rat synaptosomes (IC50s = 2.9, 2.3, and 0.74 µM, respectively).1 It also induces release of the same neurotransmitters from synaptosomes (EC50s = 0.38, 0.22, and 0.093 µM, respectively). It has been detected in products marketed as bath salts, plant food, and tablets.2,3 Methylone is regulated as a Schedule I compound in the United States. This product is intended for research and forensic applications.
