    Product Description

    β-Sitosterol-D-glucoside is a sterol glycoside that has been found in P. pseudotaimingasa and has diverse biological activities.1,2,3,4 It is active against E. coli and S. aureus.1 β-Sitosterol-D-glucoside inhibits α-amylase and α-glucosidase and scavenges DPPH (Item No. 14805) radicals (IC50s = 46.4, 17, and 155 µM, respectively).2 It inhibits the proliferation of HepG2 and SMMC-7721 hepatocellular carcinoma cells (IC50s = 143.4 and 138.73 µg/ml, respectively) and migration and invasion in the same cells when used at concentrations of 50 or 100 µg/ml. β-Sitosterol-D-glucoside (200 µl of a 200 µg/ml solution) increases survival and decreases the number of kidney colony-forming units (CFUs) in a mouse model of candidiasis induced by C. albicans.4
