Eosin-labeled insulin is a fluorogenic substrate for thioredoxin.1,2 Upon reduction by thioredoxin, eosin is released and its fluorescence can be used to quantify thioredoxin activity. Eosin displays excitation/emission maxima of 520/545 nm, respectively. This product is also available as part of Cayman’s Thioredoxin Fluorometric Assay Kit (Item No. 500228).
Needed but not supplied: Please download the kit booklet to verify if UltraPure Water (Milli-Q or equivalent) or any other components are needed for this assay.
