    Product Description

    Triamterene (Item No. 22486) is an analytical reference standard that is categorized as a pteridine. Triamterene is an inhibitor of the epithelial sodium channel (ENaC) that increases renal sodium excretion and decreases potassium excretion. It inhibits rat ENaC with an IC50 value of 4.5 µM.1 Diuretics, including triamterene, have been abused as performance-enhancing drugs and masking agents in sports doping.2 This product is intended for research and forensic applications.
