    ENVIRONMENTAL TOXICOLOGY TOOLS & SERVICES
    Product Description

Prallethrin is a pyrethroid insecticide.1 Aerosolized prallethrin is lethal to A. albopictus, A. aegypti, C. quinquefasciatus, and A. quadrimaculatus mosquitoes (LC50s = 0.28, 0.36, 0.12, and 0.27 g/100 ml, respectively). It increases lipid peroxidation and decreases activity of superoxide dismutase (SOD) and glutathione peroxidase (GPx) in rat kidney when administered at a dose of 64 mg/kg.2 Prallethrin is lethal to rats (LD50 = 640 mg/kg). Formulations containing prallethrin have been used in the control of insects in residential areas.
