Boc-AEVD-CHO is an inhibitor of caspase-8 (Ki = 1.6 nM) that also inhibits caspase-1, -3, -6, and -9 (Kis = <12, 42, 52, and 48 nM, respectively).1 It is selective for these caspases over caspase-2, -4, -5, -7, and -10 (Kis = >10,000, 375, 438, 425, and 320 nM, respectively). Boc-AEVD-CHO has been used to study the potential interference of caspase-8 activity in micronuclei detection.2 It inhibits apoptosis induced by the aneugen nocodazole (Item No. 13857) in isolated human peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs) when used at a concentration of 300 µM.
