Corynoxine B is an oxindole alkaloid that has been found in M. speciosa and has diverse biological activities.1,2,3,4,5 It induces autophagy in Drosophila second instar larvae when used at a concentration of 100 µM.2 Corynoxine B (100 mg/kg) inhibits apomorphine- and methamphetamine-induced hyperlocomotion in mice.3 It increases the duration of thiopental-induced sleep in mice when administered at a dose of 100 mg/kg.4 Exosomes containing corynoxine B increase the length of freezing time induced by footshock in a contextual fear conditioning test, decrease the latency to escape in the Morris water maze, and increase the number of hippocampal synaptic connections in the 5XFAD transgenic mouse model of Alzheimer's disease.5
