    Product Description

HWL-088 is an agonist of free fatty acid receptor 1 (FFAR1/GPR40) and peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor δ (PPARδ).1 It induces calcium mobilization in CHO cells expressing human FFAR1/GPR40 (EC50 = 18.9 nM) and transactivation of PPARδ in a reporter assay using HEK293 cells (EC50 = 570.9 nM). HWL-088 is selective for FFAR1/GPR40 and PPARδ over PPARα and PPARγ. It decreases plasma glucose, hemoglobin A1c (HbA1c), total cholesterol, triglyceride, and LDL levels, increases plasma insulin levels, and reduces hepatic lipid accumulation in ob/ob mice when administered at a dose of 40 mg/kg.
