    Eslicarbazepine is a voltage-gated sodium channel (Nav) inhibitor and an active metabolite of the prodrug eslicarbazepine acetate (Item No. 23656).1,2 It enhances slow activation of voltage-gated sodium channels, reducing channel availability.1 Eslicarbazepine is protective against seizures induced by maximal electroshock (MES) in mice (ED50 = 17.1 mg/kg).
