    Product Description

    Bisphenol A (BPA) is an endocrine disruptor and environmental contaminant.1,2 It has estrogenic activity in vitro, stimulates uterine, vaginal, and mammary growth and differentiation in rats, and reduces reproduction in zebrafish.1,3,4,5 Prenatal exposure to BPA disrupts metabolic regulation, leading to increased food intake, body and liver weight, and serum insulin levels in adult mice.6 BPA has been found in surface water, soil, and air samples, wildlife tissue samples, and human urine.2 Formulations containing BPA have been used in the production of plastics, fire retardants, and coatings.
