    ENVIRONMENTAL TOXICOLOGY TOOLS & SERVICES
    Product Description

Pentadecafluorooctanoic acid is a perfluoroalkyl substance (PFAS).1 Chronic administration of pentadecafluorooctanoic acid (5 and 20 mg/kg per day) leads to accumulation in the kidney, liver, lung, heart, testes, and brain in rats.2 Pentadecafluorooctanoic acid (20 mg/kg per day) is toxic to rats, inducing weight loss, sensitivity to external stimuli, lethargy, and hepatic inflammation. It has been found in marine life, including lake trout, salmon, and whitefish, and as an environmental contaminant.1 Formulations containing pentadecafluorooctanoic acid have been used as emulsifiers in fluoropolymer polymerization.

WARNING This product is not for human or veterinary use.
