    Product Description

Dimethindene is a histamine H1 receptor antagonist (Ki = 1.5 nM).1 It is selective for histamine H1 receptors over M1 muscarinic acetylcholine receptors (mAChRs) and the serotonin (5-HT) receptor subtype 5-HT2A (Kis = 64 and 2,400 nM, respectively). In vivo, dimethindene (0.1 mg/kg), alone or in combination with the osmotic agent icodextrin, decreases adhesions between the abdominal wall and intraperitoneal viscera and local vascularization following surgery-induced abdominal trauma in rabbits.2 Formulations containing dimethindene have been used in the treatment of dermatosis, pruritis, and nasal allergies.
