    Product Description

AZD 1656 is an activator of hexokinase-4 (HK4).1 It activates HK4 and induces glucose phosphorylation in a cell-free assay (EC50 = 61 nM). AZD 1656 (0.3 mg/kg) decreases blood glucose levels in an oral glucose tolerance test (OGTT) in rats. It reduces blood glucose levels and increases plasma insulin levels in mice when administered at doses of 2, 4.5, or 9 mg/kg.2
