    Product Description

Insulin sensitizer C59 is a potentiator of insulin-induced plasma membrane translocation of glucose transporter 4 (Glut4).1 It enhances insulin-stimulated increases in plasma membrane levels of Glut4 in a reporter assay using C2C12 cells when used at a concentration of 10 µM. Insulin sensitizer C59 (10 mg/kg per day) decreases fasting blood levels of glucose, fasting plasma levels of insulin, and body weight in mice fed a high-fat diet. It potentiates insulin-induced increases in the plasma membrane translocation of Glut4 in the forelimbs, hind limbs, brown adipose tissues, and heart but not brain or liver in mice in a model of diet-induced obesity.
