    4-Androsten-3-one-5-ene-17-carboxylic acid is a 5α-reductase inhibitor and a derivative of progesterone (Item No. 15876).1 It inhibits the conversion of testosterone to dihydrotestosterone in rat ventral prostate homogenates.
