    Product Description

    5-Hydroxypropafenone is an active metabolite of propafenone (Item No. 21871).1 It inhibits transient outward potassium current (Ito) in isolated human atrial myocytes (IC50 = 1.5 µM). In vivo, 5-hydroxypropafenone (0.5, 1, and 2 mg/kg) increases the atrial effective refractory period in dogs.2
