    Product Description

C-Laurdan is a polarity-sensitive fluorescent probe for lipid rafts and a derivative of the fluorescent membrane probe laurdan (Item No. 19706).1 It displays a two-photon excitation maximum of 820 nm and one-photon absorption/emission maxima of 384/522 nm, respectively, in water. C-Laurdan fluorescence exhibits polarity-dependent spectral shifts, with emission at longer wavelengths in polar environments and shorter wavelengths in non-polar environments. It has been used in the study of lipid rafts and membrane lateral organization.1,2
