    Product Description

    β-Bisabolene is a sesquiterpene that has been found in Z. officinale and has antiviral and neuroprotective activities.1,2 It reduces rhinovirus IB virus replication in a plaque reduction assay (IC50 = 14.3 µg/plate).1 β-Bisabolene (31.25-125 µg/ml) protects against decreases in viability, reduces production of reactive oxygen species (ROS), and decreases levels of COX-2, nitric oxide (NO), TNF-α, and IL-1β in HMC3 human microglial cells in an in vitro model of ischemia induced by glucose-oxygen deprivation.2
