DOWNLOAD NOWRobenidine is an anticoccidial agent.1 It is also active against methicillin-resistant S. aureus (MRSA) and vancomycin-resistant enterococci (VRE; MICs = 6.1 and 7.4 µM, respectively).2 Dietary administration of robenidine reduces weight gain, decreases intestinal lesion and oocyst numbers, and increases survival in E. acervulina-, E. brunetti-, E. mivati-, E. necatrix-, or E. tenella-infected chickens. Formulations containing robenidine have been used in animal feed for the prevention of coccidiosis or control of necrotic enteritis in chickens.
