OBESITY RESEARCH SOLUTIONSIslet-specific glucose-6-phosphatase catalytic subunit-related protein (IGRP) (206-214) is an autoantigenic peptide for β-cells.1 It promotes mouse T cell-induced lysis of RMA-S cells expressing the MHC class I receptor in a concentration-dependent manner. IGRP (206-214) is bound in a tetramer assay by CD8+ T cells isolated from pancreatic islets but not those isolated from peripheral blood in non-obese diabetic mice.
