    Product Description

    EC 19 is a synthetic retinoid.1 It induces epithelial differentiation in TERA2.cl.SP12 pluripotent stem cells when used at a concentration of 10 µM. EC 19 also decreases the proliferation of HepG2 hepatocellular carcinoma, Caco-2 colon carcinoma, and MCF-7 breast cancer cells (IC50s = 42.2, 10.8, and 9.7 µM, respectively).2 It inhibits migration and invasion and induces cell cycle arrest at the G2/M and G0/G1 phases in Caco-2 cells when used at a concentration of 42.2 µM. EC 19 reduces total antioxidant levels in Caco-2 cells.
