OBESITY RESEARCH SOLUTIONSSurvodutide is a peptide agonist of the glucagon receptor (GCGR) and glucagon-like peptide 1 receptor (GLP-1R).1 It induces cAMP production in CHO-K1 cells expressing human GCGR or GLP-1R (EC50s = 0.52 and 0.33 nM, respectively). In vivo, survodutide (30 and 100 nmol/kg) reduces food intake in wild-type but not Glp1r-/- mice. It reduces body weight, plasma triglyceride and cholesterol levels, and hepatic alanine transaminase (ALT) and aspartate aminotransferase (AST) levels in a mouse model of diet-induced obesity. It also increases energy expenditure independent of locomotor activity and body weight changes in the same model.
