    Product Description

PNU 37883 is an inhibitor of ATP-sensitive potassium (KATP) channels.1 It inhibits sulfonylurea receptor 2B (SUR2B) linked to ATP-sensitive potassium channel Kir6.2 (SUR2B/Kir6.2) and SUR2B/Kir6.1 (IC50s = 15.2 and 6 µM, respectively) and SUR1/Kir6.2 and SUR2A/Kir6.2 to a lesser extent at 100 µM. PNU 37883 (0.1 and 0.3 µM) inhibits relaxation of isolated rat middle meningeal arteries induced by pinacidil (Item No. 15416), levcromakalim, or P1075 (Item No. 21849).2 It increases kallikrein secretion from microdissected connecting tubules isolated from normotensive and spontaneously hypertensive rats.3 PNU 37883 (15 mg/kg) increases sodium excretion and does not affect potassium excretion or glomerular filtration rate in saline-loaded rats.4
