    Lanicemine is a low-trapping NMDA receptor antagonist (IC50 = 9.8 µM) and an active metabolite of BHV 5000.1,2 Intraperitoneal administration of lanicemine prevents seizures induced by maximal electroshock, 4-aminopyridine (Item No. 18511), N-methyl-DL-aspartate, or kainic acid in mice (ED50s = 13, 17.1, 54, and ~50 mg/kg, respectively).3 Lanicemine (24 mg/kg, p.o.) decreases hippocampal neuronal damage in a rat model of global ischemia induced by four-vessel occlusion.4 It decreases immobility time in the tail suspension test in mice, an effect that is enhanced by hyperforin (Item No. 19572).5
