    Product Description

Hexanoic acid is a short-chain saturated fatty acid. It has been found in various animal fats used in biodiesel production.1 Spray application of hexanoic acid reduces B. cinerea lesion diameter in infected tomato plants.2 It increases intratumoral numbers of CD8+ T cells and potentiates a reduction in tumor growth induced by an anti-programmed cell death protein 1 (PD-1) monoclonal antibody in a murine CT26 colorectal carcinoma model.3 Hexanoic acid (5% in the diet) prevents weight and fat mass gains and increases in hepatic triglyceride levels in mice fed a high-fat diet.4 It also increases plasma glucagon-like peptide 1 (GLP-1) levels and reduces blood glucose and plasma insulin levels in the same model.
