Isorhamnetin-3-O-galactoside is a flavonoid glycoside that has been found in O. javanica and has diverse biological activities.1,2,3 It reduces thrombin and Factor Xa levels in human umbilical vein endothelial cells (HUVECs), increases activated partial thromboplastin time (aPTT) and prothrombin time in human plasma, and increases tail bleeding time in mice.1 Isorhamnetin-3-O-galactoside (100 mg/kg) increases TNF-α serum levels and alanine transaminase (ALT) and aspartate aminotransferase (AST) serum activity and reduces malondialdehyde (MDA), inducible nitric oxide synthase (iNOS), and COX-2 serum levels in a mouse model of hepatic injury.2 It reduces peritoneal barrier permeability induced by high mobility group protein 1 (HMGB1) in mice and increases survival in a mouse model of sepsis.3
