    Product Description

Cholera Toxin B Subunit (recombinant) - Biotinylated is a biotinylated form of cholera toxin B subunit, a multimeric protein produced by V. cholerae.1,2 The non-toxic pentameric B subunit of cholera toxin binds to ganglioside GM1 (Item No. 19579), which acts as a receptor on mammalian cells, and facilitates entry of the toxic A subunit into cells.3,1 Biotinylated cholera toxin B subunit has been used in glycosphingolipid and membrane biology as a probe for ganglioside GM1 in the study of lipid rafts.4,5 It has also been used for transneuronal tracing due to its ability to be transferred between neurons.6 Cayman’s Cholera Toxin B Subunit (recombinant) - Biotinylated protein can be used in cell culture and for ELISA and GM1 binding assay applications.
