    Product Description

Isopentenyl pyrophosphate (IPP) is a precursor in the biosynthesis of isoprenoids.1 It is formed from acetyl-CoA (Item No. 16160) via the mevalonate pathway, and it can be isomerized to dimethylallyl disphosphate (DMAPP; Item No. 63180) by IPP isomerase. IPP can also be formed from pyruvate and glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate via the nonmevalonate pathway.
