Cardamonin, isolated from the fruits of Alpinia species, is a chalconoid with anti-inflammatory and anti-tumor activity.1,2 It has been shown to suppress nitric oxide and prostaglandin E2 synthesis, to suppress cyclooxygenase-2 expression, and to inhibit NF-κB signaling.1,2 It can also target the Bcl-2 protein, inducing apoptosis in cancer cells.1
