2'-O-Methylisoliquiritigenin is a chalcone that has been found in C. sappan and has diverse biological activities.1,2 It reduces colony formation and induces apoptosis and cell cycle arrest at the G2/M phase in HCC827 non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) cells when used at a concentration of 12 µM.1 2'-O-Methylisoliquiritigenin induces reactive oxygen species (ROS) production and mitochondrial membrane depolarization in HCC827 cells. It inhibits UV radiation-induced increases in dorsal skin thickness in mice when applied topically at doses of 0.5 or 1 µmol/mouse.2 2'-O-Methylisoliquiritigenin (10 or 20 mg/kg) decreases tumor volume and weight in a SK-MEL-2 melanoma mouse xenograft model.
