    Product Description

Quercetin 3-O-α-L-arabinopyranoside is a phenol that has been found in Byrsonima crassa and has antioxidant activity.1,2 It scavenges 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH; Item No. 14805) radicals in a cell-free assay (IC50 = 48.6 µM).1 Quercetin 3-O-α-L-arabinopyranoside inhibits H. pylori-induced oxidative burst of isolated rat polymorphonuclear (PMN) neutrophils (IC50 = 75.3 µM).2 It reduces N-retinylidene-N-retinylethanolamine- and blue light-induced death of ARPE-19 retinal epithelial cells in a concentration-dependent manner.3 In vivo, quercetin 3-O-α-L-arabinopyranoside (25, 50, and 200 mg/kg) prevents blue light-induced retinal degeneration in a mouse model of macular degeneration.
