    Product Description

17α-Hydroxyprogesterone (17-OHP) is a steroid and precursor in the synthesis of adrenal androgens.1,2 It binds to the glucocorticoid receptor in a cell-free assay (IC50 = 82 nM for the human receptor) and induces glucocorticoid receptor transactivation in HEK293 cells (EC50 = 1.2 µM).2 17-OHP (0.005-1 µM) inhibits aldosterone-induced transactivation of the mineralocorticoid receptor in cell-based assays.1 Serum levels of 17-OHP are increased in patients with congenital adrenal hyperplasia.1,2
