OBESITY RESEARCH SOLUTIONSSNAP 94847 is an antagonist of melanin-concentrating hormone receptor 1 (MHC1; Ki = 2.2 nM for the recombinant rat receptor).1 It is selective for MHC1 over α1A-adrenergic and dopamine D2 receptors (Kis = 180 and 7,400 nM, respectively, for the recombinant human receptors). SNAP 94847 (20 mg/kg) increases the time mice spend in the light side of the light/dark exploration test, indicating anxiolytic-like activity.2 It reduces food intake and body weight, as well as plasma levels of glucose, insulin, and triglycerides, in a mouse model of high-fat diet-induced obesity when administered at a dose of 5 mg/kg in combination with the cannabinoid 1 (CB1) receptor antagonist rimonabant (Item No. 9000484).3
