Explore how neutrophils shape the immune response in health and disease. This poster highlights neutrophil pathogen defense mechanisms, including phagocytosis, degranulation, and NETosis, as well as neutrophil roles in inflammation and NET-associated pathologies.
DOWNLOAD NOWDexmedetomidine is an agonist of α2-adrenergic receptors (α2-ARs).1 It selectively binds to α2-ARs over α1-ARs (Kis = 0.015 and 5 nM, respectively). In vivo, dexmedetomidine (50 µg/kg) prevents increases in cardiac troponin I (CTnI), a marker of myocardial injury, as well as reduces myocardial apoptosis, pyroptosis, and ferroptosis in a mouse model of sepsis induced by cecal ligation and puncture (CLP), effects that can be reversed by the α2-AR antagonist yohimbine (Item No. 19869).2 Dexmedetomidine (40 µg/kg) induces sedation and decreases mechanical nociception in cats.3 Formulations containing dexmedetomidine have been used as sedatives. This product is also available as an analytical reference standard (Item No. 38806).
