    Product Description

Doxylamine-d5 is intended for use as an internal standard for the quantification of doxylamine by GC- or LC-MS. Doxylamine is an antihistamine.1,2 It selectively inhibits contractions induced by histamine (Item No. 33828) over acetylcholine (ACh; Item No. 23829) in isolated guinea pig ileum (IC50s = 0.01 and 0.58 µg/ml, respectively).3 Doxylamine (2-4 mg/kg) protects rabbits against anaphylaxis induced by beef serum antigen.2 It reduces ethanol-induced deficits in behavior performance in rats when administered at a dose of 60 mg/kg.4 Formulations containing doxylamine have been used in the treatment of nausea and vomiting in pregnant women and insomnia.

WARNING This product is not for human or veterinary use.
