    Product Description

HCy-Lyso is a lysosome-specific fluorescent reporter for the detection of hydroxyl radicals.1 It selectively fluoresces in low pH environments in the presence of hydroxy radicals over hypochlorite, superoxide, nitric oxide, or peroxynitrite radicals. HCy-Lyso (10 µM) displays lysosomal fluorescence in the presence of the ferroptosis inducers erastin (Item No. 17754) or (1S,3R)-RSL3 (Item No. 19288), an effect that can be blocked by the ferroptosis inhibitor ferrostatin-1 (Item No. 17729), in 4T1 cells. HCy-Lyso displays excitation/emission maxima of 510/592 nm, respectively, in low pH environments in the presence of hydroxy radicals.
