BM-531

BM-531 is an antagonist of the thromboxane A₂ (TXA₂) receptor (TP receptor; IC₅₀ = 0.0078 µM) and an inhibitor of thromboxane synthase.^1,2 It inhibits the production of TXB₂ by arachidonic acid-activated human platelets when used at concentrations of 1 or 10 µM.² BM-531 prevents platelet aggregation induced by arachidonic acid (Item No. 90010; ED₁₀₀ = 0.125 µM) and U-46619 (Item No. 16450; ED₅₀ = 0.482 µM) in human citrated platelet-rich plasma.¹ It also prevents collagen-induced platelet aggregation by 42.9% in human citrated platelet-rich plasma when used at a concentration of 10 µM. BM-531 reduces U-46619-induced fundus contractions in rats (ED₅₀ = 1.5 µM) but not spontaneous contractions or those induced by prostaglandin E₂ (PGE₂; Item No. 14010), PGF_2α (Item Nos. 16010 | 16020), or PGI₂ (Item No. 18220).²
