    Product Description

Caprylic/capric triglyceride is a medium-chain triacylglycerol (MCT) that primarily contains caprylic acid (octanoic acid; Item No. 33674) and capric acid (decanoic acid; Item No. 20838) fatty acyl chains. MCTs containing caprylic and capric fatty acyl chains are components of coconut oil, palm kernel oil, and milk fat.1 Caprylic and capric acid-containing MCTs have been used in the preparation of lipid nanoparticles (LNPs) and drug delivery systems for use in vitro.2,3 This product contains triacylglycerol molecular species with C8:0 and C10:0 acyl chains, including a dominant species containing capric acid in the sn-1 position and caprylic acid in the sn-2 and sn-3 positions. Formulations containing caprylic/capric triglyceride have been used in creams, lotions, and cosmetics.

WARNING This product is not for human or veterinary use.
