Cholesterol-PEG(2000)-maleimide is a PEGylated form of cholesterol (Item Nos. 9003100 | 39088 | 39448) that contains maleimide, which can react with the thiol group in cysteine residues to form a stable thioether bond.1 It has been used to anchor an α2-antiplasmin (α2-AP) peptide to perfluorocarbon (PFC) nanoemulsions for use as thrombus-targeted contrast agents in a mouse model of pulmonary thromboembolism.
