OBESITY RESEARCH SOLUTIONSKS370G is a synthetic caffeamide and the amide-containing derivative of caffeic acid phenylethyl ester (Item No. 70750).1,2,3,4 It inhibits matrix metalloproteinase-2 (MMP-2) and MMP-9 (IC50s = 8.2 and 7.28 nM, respectively) and has antioxidant activity in cell-free assays.5,6 KS370G inhibits viral replication in porcine alveolar macrophages infected with porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome virus (PRRSV).7 It decreases LPS- and IFN-γ-induced production of nitric oxide (NO) and prostaglandin E2 (PGE2; Item No. 14010) in BV-2 microglia at 0.35-3.5 µM.1 KS370G decreases left ventricular hypertrophy and reverses left ventricular function impairments induced by abdominal aortic constriction in mice.2 It also decreases plasma glucose levels and increases plasma insulin levels in normal and diabetic mice.3 Additionally, KS370G (10 mg/kg) decreases renal fibrosis in a mouse model of renal ischemia-reperfusion injury.4
